The city of Oakwood is partnering with Green Oakwood to provide a winter Styrofoam recycling event for the Oakwood community.
Small amounts of Styrofoam will be collected at the 24/7 public-access recycling facility located at the front entrance to the J. David Foell Public Works Center, 210 Shafor Boulevard, on Saturday, January 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Green Oakwood will transport the collected Styrofoam to the Montgomery County Environmental Services Styrofoam recycling event.
Larger amounts of Styrofoam can be taken to the county-wide event at Elizabeth Hoy Park in Centerville during the same hours.
Used food clamshells will not be accepted; Styrofoam peanuts should be bagged.
Used holiday lights may also be recycled in bins at the Public Works Center.
The Public Works Center will only be open for the monthly debris drop-off event. All other services will not be available.
