Project Highlights:
Storm Sewer Work on Forrer Boulevard:
Kinnison has successfully installed the storm sewer system from Far Hills to E. Schantz. Despite several heavy rainfall events in recent months, the new system has performed exceptionally well, preventing sustained ponding in previously problematic areas throughout the project corridor.
1313 Far Hills Avenue (Vacant Lot):
As Kinnison removes their equipment and materials from the lot at 1313 Far Hills, they have left the area ready for a builder or homeowner to construct a new home.
Upcoming Work:
Far Hills & Forrer Road Softscape Restoration:
A landscaping subcontractor will begin reseeding most softscape areas affected during Phase II and Phase III of the project. These areas include the Far Hills medians and tree lawns, Forrer Road medians and tree lawns, and the lot at 1313 Far Hills. The subcontractor will return to restore Devereux Road softscape once the road is reconstructed as part of the final phase (see below).
Far Hills Avenue & Forrer Road/Boulevard Final Touches:
Kinnison will pave a surface course of asphalt throughout the affected areas of Forrer Boulevard and touch up areas of Far Hills later this week. Additionally, the landscaped median at the Far Hills/Forrer intersection will be reconstructed, after which the permanent street light will be reinstalled within the median. All concrete forms and equipment will be removed from the Far Hills and Forrer corridor upon completion. By next week, all lanes along Far Hills will be reopened to normal traffic patterns.
Devereux Road Reconstruction:
Due to conflicts with several utilities, the final two storm sewer inlets will be placed along Devereux Drive beginning next week. Spectrum, MVL, and AT&T are working quickly to move their lines from under the curb to outside the project footprint within the right-of-way. Once the inlets are installed, Kinnison will remove and replace the curb and some driveway aprons along Devereux, pave the road from Forrer to the northern work limits, and replace a driveway that was excavated during the project. This marks the final phase of the project.
*Note: This schedule is tentative and may vary due to weather or unforeseen conflicts.
