Littering and Unauthorized Dumping

Posted on June 9, 2025

Illegally dumped waste remains a persistent issue in many communities, including Oakwood. This practice has negative consequences for environmental health, the overall quality of life, and our sustainability efforts.

It is important to recognize that unauthorized waste disposal on both municipal and private property is illegal and harmful to our community. Such actions not only threaten the natural environment but also incur removal costs, jeopardize public safety, and create risks for both wildlife and human health.

How can you help?

You can play a crucial role in identifying and prosecuting those responsible for illegal dumping by reporting the following information to the Oakwood Safety Department at (937) 298-2122:

  • Provide details about the incident, including the date, time, and exact location.
  • Include descriptions of the individual involved, the type of vehicle utilized, and the license plate number, if available.

If you see something that does not seem quite right, report it.
