The recycling facility accommodates the 24/7 drop-off of green waste (yard debris), cardboard, and co-mingled recyclables such as glass, plastics and metal cans. The facility supplements Oakwood’s weekly recycling collection program conducted in conjunction with trash collection.

The new recycling facility opened on November 30, 2021.  The recycling facility was moved from its original location in the parking lot of the Creager Field Dog Park at the corner of Shafor Boulevard and Irving Avenue. The new location is at the entrance to the Public Works yard. The move creates a more efficient drop-off operation and a much more user-friendly environment for facility users. It also makes the Dog Park parking lot more functional.
