Over the past two years, the Public Safety Department has recovered pieces of property, some of which include bicycles and scooters. An inventory of these items is kept and when quantities get too great to be maintained, the items are released from the Safety Department’s possession. Most of this property is donated. For example, all unclaimed bicycles are donated to the Dayton Life Enrichment Center.
Per the Oakwood City Ordinance, the Public Safety Department is required to notify citizens before any aforementioned donations to provide an opportunity for property to be claimed.
All unclaimed property in the possession of the Oakwood Public Safety Department will be donated on September 30, 2023.
