The recycling facility was moved from its original location in the parking lot of the Creager Field Dog Park at the corner of Shafor Boulevard and Irving Avenue. The new location is at the entrance to the Public Works yard. The move creates a more efficient drop-off operation and a much more user-friendly environment for facility users.
The City’s recycling program initially began on September 18, 1989 when Oakwood was the first community in the Miami Valley to start a city-wide weekly program to collect recyclables.
