Stay Informed with CodeRED Emergency Alerts

Posted on January 6, 2026

The City of Oakwood uses CodeRED to notify residents and those who work in Oakwood about emergency incidents and critical community alerts.

Oakwood residents may also opt in to receive automated severe weather alerts on their cell phones. These alerts—issued by the National Weather Service (NWS)—include tornado, flash flood, and severe thunderstorm warnings, and are delivered within moments of issuance so you can take immediate action.

The CodeRED database automatically includes all landline numbers. Cell phone numbers must be added manually to receive alerts.

How to Sign Up:

When enrolling, you can choose to receive alerts by phone call, text message, or email. Please note that emergency alerts may be sent at any time, day or night. You may opt out at any time; however, opting out means you will no longer receive emergency notifications or service interruption updates.

Your information is kept private and secure and is used only to notify you of critical situations.
