The City of Oakwood is set to test a new approach to traffic management at several key intersections starting the third week of September. The intersections of West Dixon Avenue and Harman Avenue, Shafor Boulevard and Telford Avenue, and Shafor Boulevard and Aberdeen Avenue will see a shift from traditional stop-and-go signals to a flashing mode during off-peak evening hours, specifically between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. each day.

Drivers are advised to regard flashing red lights as a stop signal and flashing yellow lights as indicators for caution. A complete stop is required at a flashing red light, and you should proceed only when it is safe to do so. When approaching a flashing yellow light, reduce your speed and be prepared to yield to other vehicles or pedestrians.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we implement these changes to enhance traffic flow and safety in our community.
