Oakwood Municipal Court (Montgomery County)

Oakwood operates its own Municipal Court which is part of the County and State court system. The Judge is elected and serves a 6 year term. Court hearings take place at 30 Park Avenue in the same chambers that serve City Council. The Oakwood Municipal Court hears all misdemeanor cases, arraignments and traffic violations, as well as preliminary hearings on felony cases. The court also hears small claims civil cases.  Questions about the court, violations, etc. should be directed to the Clerk of Courts at (937) 293-3058.

Wright Memorial Public Library is a public library located in Oakwood, Ohio, a suburb of the city of Dayton. The library offers a robust print and e-book collection; digital resources; computer access; printing, faxing, and scanning services as well as notary and passport services; three public meeting rooms; and a Library of Things. The library hosts weekly storytimes, programs for K–12 students and adults, and provides volunteer opportunities for teens. Opened in 1939, the library is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.

Oakwood Historical Society (TOHS)

The Oakwood Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) corporation founded in 1974, whose  mission is to research, preserve, publish and promote the history of Oakwood. The Society owns and operates the Long-Romspert Homestead and House Museum at 1947 Far Hills Avenue, and sponsors various educational activities and events.

Oakwood has an active and vibrant Sister City Association.  We have two sister cities: Le Vésinet, France, a suburb of Paris, and Outremont, Canada, a suburb of Montreal.  The association’s mission is “to promote peace through mutual respect, understanding and cooperation—one individual, one community at a time.”
