Property Maintenance

The Zoning Department exists to protect Oakwood Residents – for most people, the biggest investment they will make in their lifetime is the purchase of a home. By enforcing the Zoning and Property Maintenance Codes of the City of Oakwood, the city is working to protect your property value and those around you.

The Code Enforcement Officer handles property maintenance concerns throughout the city. Complaints are generated by staff members,  Property Maintenance Board members, and residents.

The city of Oakwood has a Property Maintenance Code that regulates and governs the conditions and maintenance of all properties, buildings and structures by providing the standards for supplied utilities and facilities and other physical things and conditions essential to ensure that structures are safe, sanitary, and fit for occupation and use. These regulations have been adopted by City Council and can be found in Chapter 17 of Oakwood's City Ordinances.
