Hazardous Waste

It is very important that no hazardous materials are co-mingled with the regular weekly refuse.  This includes paints, herbicides, pesticides, oils, antifreeze, and other such materials.  Residents may take these items to the Montgomery County Moraine Transfer and Recycling Facility at 1001 Encrete Lane in Moraine and drop them off free of charge.  The drop off center is open for Household Hazardous Waste disposal the first Tuesday of every month from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. (November - February) and every Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. (March - October).  See Montgomery County's Household Hazardous Waste Disposal website for additional information.

Oakwood Hazardous WasteAlternatively, residents can request a free pick up through the Oakwood Rotary Club.  The Rotary Club offers a program every three months where volunteer Rotarians travel the community to collect and dispose of hazardous waste. To schedule a pickup, please call (937) 296-5155. While the service is free, the Oakwood Rotary Club accepts donations to be used for club service projects and grants.
