Good Choice Ticket Program
The Good Choice Ticket Program was developed to recognize good choices being made by Oakwood’s youth.
Beginning June 1 and ending Labor Day (Monday), Public Safety Officers will recognize local youth who are observed making good choices, such as: playing safely outside, looking both ways before crossing the street, using a crosswalk, wearing a bicycle helmet, and several other safe or courteous actions.
If your child receives a Good Choice Ticket, the recipient may redeem the ticket at one of the sponsoring local business partners for a reward. The program sponsoring partners are:
- Dorothy Lane Market (DLM), 2710 Far Hills Avenue, a free Killer Brownie.
- Graeter’s Ice Cream, 2412 Far Hills Ave, a free single dip ice cream cone.
The Oakwood Public Safety Department will also have a non-sweet goodie bag option for those who prefer a non-sweet reward. All Good Choice Tickets must be redeemed by September 30.
Chief Alan Hill stated, “The Oakwood Pubic Safety Department has a long-standing tradition of community-oriented policing. The goal of the Good Choice Ticket Program is to allow officers to meet and engage with local youth and their parents through a positive, friendly, and rewarding interaction.”
The Oakwood Safety Department thanks Dorothy Lane Market and Graeter’s Ice Cream for supporting the Good Choice Ticket Program.
